The NC Vision Zero Leadership Team Institute, a collaboration between NC Vision Zero and UNC-Chapel Hill, is excited to announce their 2022 Leadership Institute. The institute is part of a statewide program that aims to eliminate roadway deaths and injuries using data-driven prevention strategies. Multi-sector teams will receive training in best practice tools and approaches to help them move toward effective Vision Zero planning and implementation.

The Leadership Institute will be tailored to meet the needs of communities and give teams the chance to work together to develop a firm Vision Zero foundation and concrete action steps that are relevant to their current situation. Sessions will be a mix of 1) presentations by experts, 2) introductions of relevant planning tools, and 3) significant time for small group “team time” with a designated facilitator (coach) to apply what is learned to your local community.

This year’s Leadership Institute will be held in-person at the UNC Friday Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Masks are required and hotel accommodations will be provided for teams traveling more than 40 miles to Chapel Hill. Sessions will be held on Monday, June 27th and Tuesday, June 28th, 2022. An optional virtual Pre-session will take place the morning of Friday, June 24th. The Pre-session is highly encouraged for participants and/or teams who are new to Vision Zero.

Applications are due March 14th, 2022. You can learn more by viewing our full Call for Applications Packet.
