Associate Director, Carolina Center for Health Informatics (CCHI), NC DETECT Program Director
As Program Director for NC DETECT, Amy supervises the development and maintenance of North Carolina’s statewide syndromic surveillance system and works closely with partners to facilitate system use and usability. As CCHI Associate Director she collaborates with faculty, staff, and public health practitioners across disciplines to advance the science and practice of syndromic surveillance, with a focus on the use of emergency department and emergency medical services data to inform public health action. Amy has a PhD in Health Informatics from the UNC Carolina Health Informatics Program.
