McKenzie Hellman

Injury & Violence Prevention Project Manager

McKenzie joined the UNC Injury Prevention Research Center in June of 2024. In her role, she supports Vision Zero initiatives and projects around harm reduction and opioid overdose prevention. Much of her work involves statewide approaches and capacity building across communities in North Carolina. She holds a degree in Health Promotion and is obtaining her MPH from East Carolina University. McKenzie has a professional background in higher education programming as well as experience in rural public health.
