New Orleans Meeting 2019 

The 2019 annual meeting of the SE&SW Injury Prevention Network was held in New Orleans, Louisiana. The theme for this year’s meeting was considering ways to operationalize shared risk and protective factors into our work. 2018

Nashville Meeting 2018

The 2018 SE&SW IPN held their annual meeting in Nashville, Tennessee. The meeting’s theme was practice and policy approaches to maternal and child health in injury prevention with a specific focus on neonatal abstinence and safe sleep.

2017

Oklahoma Meeting 2017

The 2017 SE&SW IPN annual meeting was held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The theme of the meeting was evaluation, with a focus on getting back to basics and demystifying the process. Presentations included translation of research to practice; evaluation of Oklahoma’s naloxone distribution program; building an injury prevention program, and exploring the idea of a systems approach to injury prevention.

 

2016

Louisville Meeting 2016

The 2016 SE&SW IPN annual meeting took place in Louisville, Kentucky. It was held in conjunction with the Kentucky Governor’s Safety and Health Conference, giving us an opportunity to learn more about partners and projects within Kentucky. Highlights of the meeting included presentations about the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy, Safe Communities, and the Office of Highway Safety. Our keynote speaker, Dr. Bharat Balasubramanian, presented to the network, as well as the larger conference. The topic of his presentation was Advanced Vehicle Technologies, or “self-driving cars,” providing new information and ideas for preventing injuries.
